The artist retains the full copyright that is produced, including mock-ups and prints. This means the artist can create prints and merch using the image of the artwork created.
When a portrait is commissioned, the artist reserves the right to display it on the 'Layce Art' website and on 'Layce Art' social media pages. Clients who do not wish their commissioned portrait to be shown online must notify the artist before work commences.
The purchaser is granted possession of the artwork but all copyright and reproduction rights remain with the artist.
To commission a portrait, a 25% deposit (of the total amount) must be paid before the drawing can begin.
The artist accepts PayPal and credit cards via PayPal. You will be sent an invoice for ease of payment.
The deposit is non-refundable should you choose to cancel your order. This covers loss of business, time, administration and payment fees.
All packages are shipped flat (not in a tube) and thoroughly wrapped in a ridged cardboard sleeve, which is then sent as an express tracked letter.
You will be notified of the tracking number via email.
If the portrait is a gift, it can be shipped directly to the recipient. Please notify the artist at the beginning of the order.
If you wish to cancel your order, please notify the artist as soon as possible.
The 25% deposit will be retained by the artist as loss of business, the artist's time, administration, payment fees and materials.
Please choose your artwork carefully, as the artist does not accept returns due to change of heart. All items are final sale.
Damage on Delivery:
All artwork is wrapped with the utmost care. However, if your artwork arrives with clear and noticeable damage to its packaging, please take photographic evidence and bring to attention of delivery driver/provider. The artist will require photographic evidence of the damage to be emailed to: email@example.com within 48hrs of delivery.
The artist will either:
• Replace or Repair the faulty Good at our discretion; or
• If the artist is unable to provide a new replacement, then the option to offer a full or partial refund depending on the amount of damage to the artwork.
• Where a new replacement is available, and the customer elects to receive a refund instead of a replacement, the refund will be for the amount of the purchase price excluding the initial & return delivery cost.
In the event that the artist is unable to replace the artwork, then a refund will be issued upon receiving the returned damaged artwork along with its original packaging and contents (certificate of authenticity etc).
The artist reserves sole discretion to determine whether the artwork is faulty or damaged in accordance with this policy.
Waiting time can depend on the time of year and the number of other portraits the artist has already booked in. The artist can give you an estimate of when your portrait would be completed upon enquiry.
For specific dates (e.g. birthday, anniversary etc), the artist will try their best to accommodate any special request.
Whilst every care has been taken to assure accuracy of reproduction of prints according to their originals, the artist cannot guarantee a 100% likeness due to scanning settings, individual monitor/screen settings.
We gather personal information about our customers for the purposes of: (a) marketing, supplying or delivering our products to you; (b) improving and developing our products and services; and (d) expanding our business.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and personal information because of our legal and ethical commitment to comply with relevant law and more importantly, because we know that you care how information about you may be used and shared.
The artist will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties.
VAT & Import Duties
All items for sale including commission are not subject to Value Added Tax.
Payment of import duty may be liable in some countries, which is the sole responsibility of the client.
